Heavy-Duty & Half-Ton Truck Service at TOP CONCEPT Philadelphia
American work trucks — Ford F-Series and RAM 1500/2500/3500 — make up a big share of what rolls into our shop on New State Rd. Whether it’s a fleet vehicle that has to be back on the road tomorrow morning or a daily-driver pickup, we know these trucks inside and out. This post collects work on a red Ford F-350 Super Duty and a gray RAM 1500 from recent shop visits.

Ford F-Super Duty: What We Service
- 6.2L / 7.3L Godzilla V8 — gas engine maintenance, spark plugs, intake cleaning, coil packs
- 6.7L Power Stroke Diesel — fuel injection, EGR, turbo, DPF, regen issues
- Heavy-duty cooling system — radiator, water pump, thermostat housing, fan clutch
- Front end & steering — Dana 60 axle service, ball joints, tie rods, track bar
- TorqShift transmission — fluid service, valve body, torque converter
RAM 1500 on the Lift
This gray RAM 1500 came in for a fluid service and underbody inspection. The 5th-generation RAM (2019+) is one of the better-built half-tons on the road, but like every truck it needs the basics done on time — oil, fluids, brakes, and a careful look at suspension and exhaust on each visit.

Under the Hood — RAM 1500 Pentastar V6
The 3.6L Pentastar V6 is the base engine in the modern RAM. With the engine cover off you can see the intake and the typical layout for a coil-on-plug V6. Common service items at higher mileage include valve cover gaskets (oil seeping onto the exhaust manifold), oil cooler housing leaks, and the periodic spark plug change.

RAM HEMI V8 — When Power Matters
The 5.7L HEMI V8 is the upgraded option on RAM 1500 and the standard engine on many heavy-duty applications. Service items we see most: MDS lifter issues on high-mileage HEMIs, exhaust manifold bolts breaking, and the periodic spark plug refresh (16 plugs — twin-plug heads).

Diagnostic Process for Trucks
- Manufacturer-specific scan — IDS / FORscan for Ford, AlfaOBD / wiTECH for RAM
- Live data review — fuel pressure, EGT, boost, transmission temps under load
- Visual inspection — leaks, cracked hoses, harness chafing, frame and undercarriage
- Road test with a tech to confirm the customer’s complaint
We Service the Whole American Truck Lineup
Ford F-150, F-250, F-350, F-450 (gas or Power Stroke diesel) — and RAM 1500, 2500, 3500 (Pentastar V6, HEMI V8, or 6.7L Cummins diesel). Whether it’s an interval service, a check engine light, or a major repair, bring it in for a real diagnostic and an honest quote.
